High electricity bill

I was asked by a local establishment to investigate a high bill they were receiving for a redundant building, after a quick rummage about I found two storage heaters lovely and warm and a large tank of hot water, immersion had been on 24/7 for last 10 years at least

And its taken 10 years plus before somebody twigged a high leccy bill for a redundant building might need to be checked!

That could add up to a few £k......

Never underestimate the complacency of the accounts department.......

At work, I discovered 4 analogue telephone lines that we have been paying line rental on with nothing plugged into them for as long as anyone can remember! You might have thought that somebody would have twigged that there are never any call charges?

Another one is the RedCARE alarm line for a building we stopped renting 5 years ago!

... and not only accounts departments - individuals as well! I know someone who owns a good few houses who, without noticing, carried on paying one of the utility bills for one of them for many years after he had sold it!
