hoping to install a hive v1today

Have a condensing boiler controlled by danfoss tp9000 and remote termistat in hallway.

What is the safest way to link out the wires connecting the thermostat?

Would rather leave them in place in case I go back to wired at a later date

Thanks

Do a search here.
Your question is a worn record

Yours is one of the more simple swaps. But you need to do some checks first.

1. Check that your TP9000 is the 230V version (most are) so that it has a mains supply that can be used to power the Hive.

2. The existing remote sensor in your hallway should be wired to terminals 5 & 6 of the Danfoss TP9000. Check this, and if it is, you can simply disconnect it. If you find something else post back what you do have.

After that, the following wiring terminals of the Danfoss correspond to the dual channel version of the Hive and can be swapped over like for like as follows:

N=Neutral
L=Live
1=Hot Water Off
2=Heating Off
3=Hot Water On
4= Heating On

Notes:
There will not be a wire connected to terminal 2 so leave it empty.
There may / may not be a wire connected to terminal 1, depending upon your type of system. If there is a wire there reconnect it at the Hive, if there isn't a wire now leave it empty.

Stem thanks very much for your reply. Really appreciated.

Re the remote sensir. What is the safest way to terminate the remote sensor wires?

Use terminal blocs atboth ends?

Remove sensor wires from 5 & 6 isolate / insulate them if you aren't going to remove them completely. Terminals or insulation tape are ok if they are not connected at either end. Professionals would normally remove them altogether if they are no longer used.

Then transfer all of the wires in the following Danfoss terminals, to the same terminal numbers for the Hive

N=Neutral
L=Live
3=Hot Water On
4= Heating On

Park the earth wire.

Job done.

Cheers

Wiring all done but having problems getting them to synch.

The Hub had solid green light ( all good) and showing as connect on app)

If I press central heating the boiler comes on so I'm assuming it's wired correctly?

The receiver is flashing amber ( trying to connect to other devices)

The thermostat is still trying to find the hub and receiver

Any ideas?

Wiring sounds OK, and the communication between the various parts is wireless anyway, so I suggest that you power everything down and follow the instructions on set up in the installation guide again in the order given. For some reason the items don't seem to be communicating with each other. If that doesn't work, a call to technical support is probably the best recourse.
