Hi all,

Thanks in advance for reading my post.

I've got a gas safe engineer booked in to service my boiler and asked him how much it would cost to swap a reciever only.. Which he quoted £100 for a 5 minute job, when he's here anyway....?

Could someone clarify the wiring for me please (which wire should go where?) Bit apprehensive as the previous owner has jumped the Live to A... Also no Earth... Ive attached a photo! And only 1 L, 1N and 1 Grey....

Should I get someone to do it? I have no trouble wiring light fitting so assumed this would be the same sort of case?

Thanks again!

N & L of course are the same.

You will also have to "jump the L" to 1-Common

B to 3-Heating on.

You don't need an earth. There should be one there but it doesn't matter.

Also, the wires should be sheathed (outer cover of cable), not just single wires.
Can you draw the cable down - or replace it?

Thank you so much @EFLImpudence!

So just for clarity:
N to N
L to L
L jump to 1 common
2 (heating off) left unused?
3 to (heating on) grey/B

The top is sheathed so I shall shorten or draw down as there is a lot of slack!

Thank you!
