Pretty bog standard hob. 4 Gas burners and an ignition button, press the ignition button and the spark unit delivers about 1 healthy spark per second to all 4 burners.

Three of the burners light after a couple of sparks. The other one sits there oozing gas as a considerable rate for several seconds (>10) until it lights with a big oomph and burns off my eyebrows.

Any idea what I can do about this other than stand further back?

Ben.

check the insulation at the ignition point of the dodgy ring, you will probably find it is cracked and shorting causing a weak spark, you could superglue round the insulation which can help
