I have ben asked to wire a Yukon second hand hot tub.Rated 220- 240 v 27.8 amps
i was thinking 40 amp rcbo 10ml swa Ip65 40amp rotary switch... only problem inside connections read L2 L1 N L3 in this order ....not really my game hot tubs... :? Any more info would be appreciated

A lot of the US made tubs (like this one) have that sort of connections. The US system has a big feed (50A) to a sub board that has two RCDs in it (one for heater, one for pump). The two RCDs connect to the L2 L1 N L3 .

For the UK market, they usually derate the tub (to maybe 20A) and common out the lives & neutrals.

You'll need to contact the maker's tech people to find out what they do with that make & model. They're all different.

Dont forget you'll need an RCD. Also an isolator switch near the tub.

Many thanks TTC ive just phoned the guy and he said it came from Canada , He is trying to source the manual :D

A 27 amp load in America / Canada is pretty big and would (I'd think) normally be split across their two-phase system.

Their homes are normally fed with 2 lives and a centre tapped neutral, so the two lives have 220 volts between them, with 110 volts to neutral.

I would think this was a possible way to wire this hot tub - but clearly not compatible. :?

Instal for Hot Tub is same rules as swimming pools.

Also you may need to use earth rod, depending on earthing arrangements at supply & length of cable run.
Look up perceived voltage in the regs.

The last tub I did was rated at 38A

Think you mean percieved shock ;-)

Everything in a tub is self contained and completely out of the way. No exposed metalwork anywhere. I have had talks with the NIC who are happy with PME to a hot tub of this construction. It would be that metal light on the wall or the bib tap you use to steady yourself while drying that may be an issue
