Hotpoint WM52 was making loud banging noise and tripped the main RCD twice.

It has now had new bearing and drum brace fitted to stop the banging noise, drum brace had cracked leg. But now when the power is connected and switched on it trips the main RCD all the time???

I have tested with the motor and pump disconnected, but still blows main RCD??

Tried with door lock disconnected, and will power on but will not do anything but does NOT blow RCD??

Q. Could a faulty door lock cause the main RCD to blow.

Checked all wiring and can not find and exposed or loose wiring...

Am I missing something, this thing is driving me MAD!!!

Any suggestions please.....

Favourite is the heater if the inner drum drops it damages the heater ins causing short to earth. Easily tested disconnect the heater connections to see if machine stops blowing rcd. It of course will not complete a wash programme but will prove the heater faulty
