The shares mentioned would be appropriate once the current Trump farce has settled down. Gold may carry on, or not..

YOu know as well as I do that if you just hold it, sooner or later someone big will sell a lot and the price will drop, and everyone else will see the price drop and sell theirs,, etc etc.

There is nothing wrong with a bit of hedging, but as you say anyone who bought pretty much anything on the Nasdaq, a week ago would have made a lot more.
