To be clear you are HAPPY that rich high tax paying people are leaving the uk, taking their spending elsewhere

when the uk tax rate was cut higher tax a few years back it resulted in an extra 8 billion in revenue this was a mixture of people holding back tax due and people thinking no need to hide as much and paying accountants etc i might as well declare it
Best way to increase tax collection is to have individual agreements with large companies.
For example, google. If they paid 1% tax, they would probably pay the equivalent of 10 million builders (being nice here).
As well as opening up thousands of job positions in which workers would pay tax.
Then, more tax collected, less need to squeeze the workers, so tax rate could be cut overall.
Said that, I have trouble thinking that politicians would use the extra income for the people...

I remember being called into my local tax office and being placed under investigation when I was self employed because ALL my cash jobs were being paid into my business account. I got my accountant involved too, who confirmed this was his advice to me. Eventually (it should have been my first question, but I was naive), I asked if I was being investigated for tax irregularities and if so, I would employ the services of a lawyer. The case was dropped soon after.
