to dot & dab, then skim a new extension I'm having built?

Room is 26' x 15' x 8' - one 15' wall has large patio doors & one 26' wall has two small windows.

Have had a couple of guys here for 5 days now - they've only got about half the walls boarded so far - should it take that long, or are they taking the ****?

Thanks.
Dean.

It’s a bigish room but 2 of em should have had it boarded it out in a day if they worked at it, 2 days at most. To skim all 4 walls would be another day even if only one of them actually spreads; if it’s the ceiling as well, add another ½ day so even being generous, 4 days should have seen it all done.

I hope your paying for the job & not paying by the day! :?

Cheers - came home from work early yesterday to find the guys packing up and leaving. That was 3 o'clock! No wonder they aint getting things done. Spoke to builder - he is the one who hired the plasterers, and he's going to sort it out. Paying him a price for the completed extension so plasterers aren't costing me any more, but just delaying things.
Thanks for advice.

can i just say, finishing at 3 is ok if you've started early and grafted until that time, can i also say, it sounds like you plasterers AREN'T doing that!

5 days and 2 of them to part board an extension!!! that's 10 days labour so far and no sign of a spot board!! my word, i think they're having the builder at it.

Yeah, the builder seemed to think so as well - he's got some new guys in today & they reckon it'll all be done by Friday lunchtime.

The original guys reckoned that because of the extension being my new kitchen, they had more than the usual amount of sockets to cut out which was slowing them down!
