how much concrete can be poured in a day?

"you've got to shift it all by hand"

We've moved on from "hand" work.
We use a 22 ton Daewoo and 17 ton Komatsu. Both capable of lifting a cubic meter in Secatol skips or their buckets.
Hiring a pump is rare for the operation we run. Would put your lights out overnight. The big Daewoo will lift 150 cube into peri formwork before this weeks out.

This is a DIY site - the OP is unlikely to be able to hire a 22 ton Daewoo tomorrow, but a decent local concrete firm will either have a pump, or a good relationship with a pumping firm whom they can recommend. Therefore making it DIYable.

I also expect the hire of a 22 Daewoo and driver would come in at more than £2-250 for the hire of the pump.

The OP has the farmer at his disposal. That's all he needs.

Unlike townie clients they are usually extremely helpful and resourceful.

Can you imagine a 22 tonne digger trundling up and down a 200m hill with half a bucket (by the time it has slopped about) of concrete v's a pump. We would be finished and cleaned up at half the cost and a tenth of the time.

Norcon, you are a joke and a laughing stock. You keep your antiquated methods where they belong - "back in the province".
