How much gas should a Atmos Multi 24/80 use?

I would have been helpful if Atmos published some efficiency figures for boilers in the same way cars quote things like 'miles per gallon', else how can you compare them?

Is it enough to state how much heat can be generated without saying how much power is used?

Your boiler, like all current boilers is over 90% efficient. They do quote the efficiency but that's not very relevant because its how the controls use the heat which is more important.

I would be very surprised if BG did a proper service opening the combustion chamber. That takes about 45 minutes! They usually only do a safety check with a gas analyser taking 10 minutes.

If you had called a good independent they would have explained the controls to you and checked the settings and not left you saying "you have no idea what the boiler is doing and it seems to be on all night!"
