How to best relocate this waste pipe?

Though regards hose up high to spigot - I agree it makes sense, but is it? If the waste outlet at the back of the appliance is at the rear bottom then whether it gets pumped low and then up into spigot as opposed to high and across into the spigot, is there much of a difference?

Every washing machine and dishwasher "won't drain" I attend, the hose runs under the units and up to the spigot.

They clogg up with particles that build up over time and can eventually kill the pump.

Low and then up is fine. You don't have much option with a built in dishwasher, there isn't even enough room for the hose to fit behind them. Usually.

Depends on situation but I try and install them so that it goes up in adjacent cupboard(s) and across at high level rather than snaking for 2-3m under the kickboards!

Makes sense. Thanks.

Any ideas on how I deal with the waste pipe? If I cut it down to below 120mm so it slots behind the dishwasher, then how to blank it off? Currently it has a screw cap.
