How to best relocate this waste pipe?

Though regards hose up high to spigot - I agree it makes sense, but is it? If the waste outlet at the back of the appliance is at the rear bottom then whether it gets pumped low and then up into spigot as opposed to high and across into the spigot, is there much of a difference?

Every washing machine and dishwasher "won't drain" I attend, the hose runs under the units and up to the spigot.

They clogg up with particles that build up over time and can eventually kill the pump.

Low and then up is fine. You don't have much option with a built in dishwasher, there isn't even enough room for the hose to fit behind them. Usually.

Depends on situation but I try and install them so that it goes up in adjacent cupboard(s) and across at high level rather than snaking for 2-3m under the kickboards!

Makes sense. Thanks.

Any ideas on how I deal with the waste pipe? If I cut it down to below 120mm so it slots behind the dishwasher, then how to blank it off? Currently it has a screw cap.

Is it a push fit coupler that's on the pipe with the blanking plug in it?
It was, and the 40mm pipe was inside a push fit sleeve coming from the floor, so I just removed the pipe and used a 40mm push fit socket plug (£1.50) to plug it. A very easy solution to what I thought was going to be a difficult problem.

UPDATE:

In order to get the dish washer flush with the wall I swapped the plug socket with a fused spur, removed the waste pipe that was coming up the wall and plugged the outlet at the floor with a 40mm push fit plug, and bypassed the underfloor water pipe by disconnecting it at the inlet and running a separate pipe with valve under the cupboard. Now the dishwasher goes right in tight.

I wasn't sure if it was pushfit but I did see that socket in the floor and thought if it was, you could plug it flush to the floor ;)
