How to calculate centre of room for ceiling pendant

Why is it you know so much about electric stuff?
Maybe because I am curious - I know a fair bit about all sorts of disciplines, in addition to those in which I have been formally educated, 'qualified' or professionally involved ;)

In almost every field, I like, where possible, to do as much work myself as I can, but I always want to learn enough to be able to do the work properly/safely - hence the need I've had over the years/decades to 'be curious' about all sorts of things.

Even now 30 years after I started using it the mini trunk lid would be what they call a hack now

Slide it it under cross pieces and in between insulation and draw it back .

It will still have its uses due to its thinness and manoeuvrerability

My first few rewires I had a 110v drill (not sds) and a hammer and chisel.....it was fine didn't really give it a thought....these days I cant screw an inch and a half screw in without an impact driver.
I can remember back to the bone shaker kango hammers

There was more impact to the body than the wall

And well before that

OP is being anal. It makes zero difference. Go with what looks OK.
The more important point is making sure that fittings attach to a joist.
