How to extend microwave cable

Why bother buying a 50 metre drum, just buy a 2 metre 13 amp extension lead with a moulded plug and just cut the socket end of it.
Like you was gonna do with the kettle lead

Ok, thanks EFLImpudence.

333rocky333, thanks for your response. It doesn't seem to be available at the website but instore, you can buy any length required by cutting it yourself from a reel, so you can even buy 12 inches if that's all you want. 1 metre is about 69p or something like that as far as I can remember.

flameport, that sounds like a really sensible plan to me, but since it sounds very easy and cheap to do, I think the diy might look better as it would be much less bulky and can easily be hidden behind the microwave.

Thanks for all the replies. I'll go with the 10A flex, it doesn't mention this at the website but I think I read it on the reel of cable intore.
