How to fix these flush ceiling lights ?

Hi,
I am planning to replace the ceiling lights with a flush ceiling light.
Do I need to replace the rose and collect the wires in wago connectors one for each live,neutral and earth ? The pic clearly shows five colours...so do I group them by their distribution ( red and brown are together as live?) and blue and black together as neutral ? Should I then connect the blue and brown from the new ceiling light to appropriate wago connectors ?
Secondly is there a simpler way to do this ...like connect the two wires from the ends of the white ceiling wire to the new flush light and hide that cable in the recesses of the new light ? Sorry but I had to ask !
Lastly since I've never done this before, how safe is it to drill holes for supporting brackets near the wires? I can see that almost every heavier light has one....is there something I need to avoid ? Is it a case of isolating the mains wire and staying clear ?

Before We/I answer questions can you get to the void above this light to see how the cables are run and where you could fix your new light to? If it's a yes there are maintenance free box options that could make fitting it far easier than fiddling about with wires above head height

They are connected in the same way they are now, which means 4 separate connectors.
Essential that the reds in the centre are NOT mixed up with those on the right, and the black with red sleeve is NOT mixed up with the other blacks.

It isn't possible to get that now...but would you mind elaborating on your idea or provide me a link even! An easier solution is exactly what I'm loong for !

Thanks. I'll do that... probably connect each bunch to the connector separately to avoid confusion in addition to taking pics.

The screws for the existing ceiling rose should go into a timber piece behind, so installing new screws in line with the old ones would normally avoid any wires.

In that case if you pull the slack on the cables down just use Wago connectors inside the light fitting. You might need to drill a hole in the fitting to do that and use a rubber grommet to protect the entry point. Have you more than one light as it looks like the switched live (the black with Red sleeve) in the right hand connector block feeds two

Yes. You're right! Oops forgot about a small entry light at the bedroom which has no bulb for now! So..two lights with one switch. Great observation!
