I have 1940s semi where a gable end slate which is midway has slipped and some other slates on the same gable end which have become offset probably due to the highwinds we had lately. I Also had the gable end barge board replaced last year with a pvc facia.

Whats the best way to fix these slates? I think the new fascia board doesnt provide adequate support to these edge slates from shifting.

One roofer suggested using expanding foam - didnt quite understand what he meant but im assuming filling expanding foam between the facia and the slates to lock them in?

Any other advise?
