My folks seem to be settling on these tiles for their splashback and window sill, but I'm just wondering about the spacing as the edges are curved.

Would normal 2mm spacers at each corner be right, with the grout going to 3 or 4mm in the middle of the tiles where it curves inwards?

Also as they are only going behind the hob, what do you do on the edges that are on show?

Any advice or help would be much appreciated. :)

Hi,

Yes I've had similar tiles before and the spacers on the corners will still work. It just means as you say that the grout will be slightly thicker and thinner but that is part of the rustic charm of the tile.

Here's a guide on splashbacks: http://letsfixit.co.uk/11938/how-to-install-a-kitchen-tile-backsplash/

Regarding the edges, its up to you whether you want to overlap the vertical tiles over the horizontal or viceversa depending on what looks best in your eyes.

It amuses me how imitations of hand-made tiles go completely over the top in their wonkiness, to produce something that looks nothing like a hand-made tile.

Cheers

I did my kitchen with an identical looking/colour tile 15 years ago.
I stuck the spacers end on,one leg between the tiles, the 3 legs in mid air which worked well.
