How to wire a 2 core plug for '60s Revox Tape Machine? Help!

Lucky you.

Is the tape from work modern tape (like RMG900) or old tape? Someone told me to stick to old 7" reels but I don't know if that is sound advice. I guess that'd save me from buying a NAB adaptor.
