I wasn’t held up by the Spanish border control/passport staff.
I didn’t need a EHIC card because that had been replaced with a GHIC card
I enjoyed free roaming on my mobile.
It I’d been driving, I wouldn't need an international driving permit
I wouldn’t need a green card for my insurance
 Have I missed anything out?

Oh, and on my return to Gatwick, no huge queues.

Your exchange rate was a lot worse than pre Brexit. They stamped your passport and you can't stay longer than 6 months.

o_O How's that work?
In order

He spends more to get there but spend less while he is there on wine women and Paella

Yes mottie and millions of others.

So let's say a Frenchman or maybe a German, they get more £s for their Euro . They spend more money on Beer women and Cockles.

How's that?

The exchange rate means he spends more, not less.

The reverse is true for visitors here, apart from the inflation/cost.

Any figures to prove uk tourism is benefiting. I seem to think they are saying the opposite

not true. 90 days in any 180 days. If you want to stay longer you simply get a visa. Its not hard.
