Ideal ISAR HE24 boiler issue.

I'm still suspicious of flame impingement with the downward firing burner.

If you need an assistant in your new job give me a call :D

But I have not seem that "slurry" on any other ali HE?

Wierd stuff that it is

I wouldnt mind

;)

No alas and alack I will be still working on boilers in the coming year

:(

Anyone using Warmfront is generally being ripped off. IMHO. Strange how it seems nearly everyone has to pay about £1500 on top of the grant to the installing company (allegedly)

Interesting... we paid about £1100 on top of the grant.

It's starting to look like a letter to Warmfront is a good idea.

Sorry thought youd finished

Also If you think that its going off topic, alert the mods and they will sort it out.

:)

We have heating and hot water! :D

Only took the guy abut 20 minutes to fix it.

The problem was FLUE Gasket. He didn't explain much what it is, but it seems to have cured the problem. Finally! :)

Well, that did not last long! It is doing it again this evening.

Another call to them tomorrow, I guess...

Well thats the normal quality standard for Ideal. Unless you get an engineer called Tom, you are wasting your time

Called them this morning. They'll call back. So we'll see.

Do you have the last name for Tom?

No, but he lives at Hemsby :?

He's the only one round here who actually fixes them properly and takes the time to do a good job.

I often wonder why someone of his quality works for Ideal :?

It bangs very loudly everytime it fires up.

I dropped the plastic condensate trap, it was dry I flushed it through but nothing came out.

Did you get any joy with yours?

Is it a vertical flue or horizontal flue. It will ignite with a bang if trap is dry, but (theres always one) if its another fault causing bang it will blow water out of the trap. What type of flue arrangement does it have?

The flue comes out the top then has 90* bend then goes out wall. Bang was quieter after i filled u bend in trap but back to full bang again. Neighbor had a word with me today.
