Sunday i plan to fit a thermostatic shower. i play to t off of the bath copper inlets which have an islotating valve so i can turn the water off there. then i plan to put in a t push fit fitting then attataching JG Speedfit P-EX Barrier Pipe, then here comes my head scratching. how do i attach the barrier pipe to the shower its self? what fittings do i need, a flexi hose???????

any info would be awesome, im using the barrier pipe as i dont really want to use 15mm copper pipe and the barrier pipe can be run up the wall easier, its just connecting up to the shower thats a problem at the moment. the shower that im buying is a swirl thermostatic shower from screwfix

all the best

no just going to drill two holes for the shower to go in the remove abit of plaster board under the holes so i can connect the barrier pipe to the shower it self

All ok. When you feed up the barrier pipe fit an elbow pushfit fitting to the pipe (don't forget the insert) and put a short piece of copper tube to come out to the shower valve. It's a good idea to get a bar shower template for fixing purposes. Don't forget hot on the left cold on the right. :)

what about any noggins in the plasterboard wall that run horizontal
that maybe in the way of the pipe going through ?

you'll need to fit 2 wall plates to a noggin in the wall or fit a purpose made bar shower plate in the wall.

come on moggridgeplumbing
don't let the side down with pushfits in the stud wall

ahhhhh i see, good idea about the short bit of copper pipe from the shower and a plastic push fit, iv got a length of 2x1 i the shed to fit the shower to.

i will remember about the cold and hot side's haha

Bar mixer do not fit on to the pipework like a normal mixer they fit onto
either doglegs or the bracket i've shown so forget the length of copper pipe in a pushfit ideal.

If your thinking of just pushing a piece of copper pipe through a hole in the wall then hows the bar mixer going to be fitted/surported.

bar mixers come with doglegs
one end screws into the mixer the other end is screwed into wall plate
which is secured to a noggin
which takes a vertical pipe no need for elbow pushfits.
pushfits in walls is bad practice and not recommended.
