I am changing from a gas cooker to an electric cooker, can any one tell me the size of the fuse I will need as I have a spare 45amp in the consumer box , the cookers rated at 11.2 kw with a cable run of 6mts from consumer box

Wouldnt diversity only apply if there were other things on the circuit or does the cooker only pull 11.2 kw when every hob grill and oven is on/

the oddds of every single element being on at the same time and for long enough to damage the cable / blow the fuse is slight..
each element has a thermostat and cycles on and off once up to temperature..

Yes, but you never even considered the size of the cable before saying "aye".
The fuse is there to protect the cable from over current.

to apply diversity of a cooker circuit the age old formula may be used unless in your engineering judgement other factors effect this.

first 10Amps plus 30% of the remainder plus 5Amps if a socket on the control unit.

11.20 KW at 230V gives 48.7Amps

10.00A +
11.61A (30% of 38.70A)
21.61 A Subtotal
05.00 A (socket)
26.61 A Total
