I WISH TO INSTALL AN ALL ELECTRIC FREE STANDING COOKER BUT OUR CONSUMER UNIT HAS NO MORE FREE FUSE WAYS. THE UNIT IS ALSO THE OLD TYPE WITH WIRED FUSES. IS IT POSSSIBLE TO INSTALL A SINGLE TRIP TYPE FUSE TO POWER THE NEW COOKER SOCKET? ALSO AS THIS ISCOUNCIL PROPERTY SHOULDN T THE OLD TYPE CONSUMER UNIT BE UPGRADED BY LAW? THANKS FOR ANY ADVICE

Does your cooker not come with a flex and a plug attached to it?

Oh ....just switch ya caps lock off as well matey

As you have a council property I would not think you will be allowed to do such work yourself, but speak to the council, it's their house.
