Hello,

So I have a light in the porch, which is controlled by a switch in the hallway indoors.
I want to put a PIR in the porch so the light comes on when I get home, and switches the light on so i can see the keyhole in the door!

Ive had a look, and I believe the current wiring is the same as this:

If my logic is correct, can I add a PIR like this, and the PIR will still work whether the switch is on or off:

This is what I aim to buy:

Many thanks.

Almost.
A PIR has 3 connections, the other one is to the centre terminal block in the ceiling rose.

Almost right.
The pir needs a live and neutral to actually power it all the time.
So there should additional be a brown pernimnt live connection from 3.4.5 to the pir.

When your pir is then activated by movemnt it sends switched live to the lamp along the Left cable you had already drawn.
