i have a an integrated garage, at the front of the house next to the garage is a meter long open porch. ( inset into the house). the 1m section of wall between the porch area and the garage is single skin brick. it then changes to single skin blockwork. on the inside of the house there is about 30mm insualted PB on the blockwork. The hallway and wc next to this wall are always much colder than the rest of the house so i want to add more insulation to the the garage side of the wall.
I had originally thought to build a 2x3 cls frame next to wall with 60mm pir, taped then fireboard over the top. ( i also want noggins up high for wall hung cupboards etc later so this means no insulated pb) but i wondered if its ok along the full length or if i need to use a different method for the last meter which is only single skin brick to the porch?

suggestions appreciated!

Can't say I fully understand as I'd need to look.
However.
Stud as you say.
Insulation.
Ply board over.
Plasterboard.
Easy to fix to with the ply sheets.

Do it the other way around i.e. PIR snug against the wall then build a 45mm x 45mm timber frame in front....

i have attached a very rough sketch of what ive got. i basically want to insulate the hallway from the garage but also the garge from the outside if that makes sense! the outside walls in black are all insulated cavity.

i had thought about doing the insualtion first then batten over the top. but i plan on mounting a lot of stuff to the wall and dont think thin battens over insulation will hold ( i could be wrong it just seams weaker?) i want to keep the build up as thin as possbile!

Fix the frraming to the floor and the ceiling timbers - no problem. Fill out between the studs with 18mm ply (for fixing to). You cann add more insulation (25mm?) beteen the studs behind the ply.

I've got similar, in our case about 5m of single wall between my office and the garage. My answer is to convert the garage into a room. Then it becomes an internal wall and doesn't matter.

Just throwing another idea into the pot just in case you haven't considered it, or might do in the future.
