iPod Problem

Daughter got a new iPod from Santa but cannot access the iTunes Store. Computer tells her to check the connections, but I really don't know what this means. Can anyone help please?

PS No MW, I don't think that the Store will be closed on Christmas day!

No expert, but I'm sure when my mate installed his software for his iPod he had to register his device through the software before he could access itunes download library to download from the store.

The other possible cause is that itunes is being blocked by your firewall (either software like zone alarm or built in to the router)

Thanks Malc, now if you could just tell what sort of 'software' you mean it could be the answer. Is it something that is in the iPod or something that comes up when the pod is connected to the computer? You may not be an expert, but I am still at the starting line as far as computers and accessories are concerned.

It was just the installation disk that came with the iPod, which installed the iTune software. I'm sure it performed some form of registration as part of the wizard.
