You make a very good case for MM, and the IRA Durham, but you seem to forget that the botht IRA and the supposed aparthaid came about because the South wanted a unified Ireland, and the British protestant North wanted to stay part of the UK, hence the IRA bombings that then led to all the troubles. Yes MM was a products of his time, but it was a time created by the desires of the South, and then resisted by British and the protestants. Gerry Adams stood up and denied MM as being a terrorist, but in then calling him a fredom fighter, effectively admitted his part on the fighting, and also in the killings of inocent people. Most terrorists know that they can't win, and eventually have to sue for peace, but it seems that both GA and MM wanted to come to terms with the Britsh Govenment a couple of years before hostilities ceased, but Thatcher wouldn't give in to them, so they blew up the Brightin hotel.

Load of tosh. He was born into his environment and didn't like it so he turned to violence and killing. mcguiness was a thug that had't the intelligence to take a different route.
Most people just get on with their lives.

NI still belongs with the UK and any referendum will leave it that way.
But the faschist republicans will only accept one referendum result. At the moment they are considering a return to arms. No doubt ira woman michell o neil will give them her full support.

Why don't the faschist republicans repay the billions they caused in damage to protestant businesses during their reign of terror?
That would be a meaningfull goodwill gesture for peace and reconciliation for starters.

If you want to see a true man of peace in NI then look to Gordon Wilson.

The people who deserve the credit for peace in NI are the ordinary people from both sides of the divide who work with each other every day and strive just to make a living for them selves and their families.

Because Doug99 claimed MM gave up his IRA activity due to 9/11, but he apparently gave up in 98, he also claimed funding dried up, if I claimed such "fact" I would back it up with some credible evidence, my own opinion is the same as Brigadier, he realised the game was over and settled for a fat salary, car and hobnobbing with royalty, but that is only an opinion not a "fact"

An interesting fact is that Clinton only got involved with the 'Peace Deal' because he was chasing the Irish vote in US elections, not because of any heartfelt sympathy toward those who suffered from IRA atrocities.

Hell is the place you are currently in, and heaven (although not in the biblical sense) is where you return to as just a ball of light. He is currently in an inbetween state whilst he transitions to a higher realm, where he will review his life, and judge what he has done. Aftet that, he will decide what he needs to do next time to learn from what he did in this life.

There is a kind of purgatory, but I'm afraid it's for those who are far worse than he is.

Obviously not the same ones as you. But the Catholic church is currently changing it's doctrine, and the Pope has said that Hell is you're current life, and Heaven is a state of grace with God. The rest is my own interpretation of what I've learnt in my life.
