For such high profile games as Friday's and last night's, the refereeing was really poor.
I also thought England were the better side, but the French were more threatening and, ultimately, effective.

Saka should have been awarded a penalty. He had a very good game.
England lacked the finish, but France seemed very alert to interceptions when England were passing the ball on the ground.
France were also very physical at times but seemed to get away with it.

The French side were sharp. If you look at that game from the outside, when the French had the ball they were dangerous. We lost to a good quality World Cup side there. I don't think the ref was an England fan though.

How much did you win?
It worked against Senegal but not against a sharp talented aggressive team like France.

My old Ma watched it all and made the following independent observations.
The French players were wild and took every opportunity to foul.
They were not sportsmanlike when England missed the penalty. Some were laughing.
The ref made many decisions against England.

The French Press are even saying France was 'lucky'.
