bin it, unless its an expensive one then send it to be serviced.
usually there all tamperproof screws and not worth the hassle

Is it tripping the RCD? Check nothing has got lodged between the metal guides and the elements. I had the same problem and it was a currant from a hot cross bun shorting between the earthed metal and the element.

We often get that RCD problem with our office toaster doing Currant buns, Usually down to a stray current in the system
