It is simply down to supply of vaccines. You can't use what you don't have.
EU nations are sharing their vaccines among the other member states.
For the EU, as a whole to equal UK, with just the first vaccine, it will need enough vaccines to vaccinate UK six times over.

Recognising any mistakes and correcting them is not the same as "they ****ed it up" if the alternative strategies would have had worse outcomes.
It's recognising that the strategy was correct, but it could be improved by tweaking it a little.
Ursula also referred to failings in supply, which is really the biggest problem. The system and processes are in place and standing empty solely due to supply problems, caused by PfizerBiontech and Astrozeneca falling down on their agreed supply, not forgetting that EU needs six times the amount required for UK.

Sorry, you're right. But the bit about needing six times the amount, in fact that is an underestimation, is correct.

For the EU to equal the same vaccination rate as UK it would need 90,000,000 vaccines.
So any comparison between UK and EU is arbitrary.
