Is this a bag of sand?

Whatever type of sand it is,it will not be harmfull to man kind unless you get it in your eyes

Keep it for when the snow comes and spread it on your path.

stick your finger in and lick it

sharp sand as used for concrete no probs (apparently has uses in the garden)

rock salt = salty

why would the builders have an unused bag of it?

I meant what were they using it for

Good question. I mean who ever heard of a builder that used bags of sand as part of his job  Maybe you had a builder with a fetish?

The OP should have waited and then could have been the first nutty post of 2007, instead of the last of 2006

If you have a lawn, sprinkle the sand on that. It will generally improve the drainage and make it a bit less muddy. Grass will grow up through it.

As you only have a single bag it will not make much difference, but you could sprinkle it on the bit nearest the back door or wherever it is most likely to get walked on when wet.

I am 93.6578% sure it is a bag of sand, but could you confirm please

If your builder mentioned that he actually worked for the Taliban and that building was his part-time job/hobbie, then i would be slightly worried about the mistery bag myself!

Maybe it was a Christmas gift?

But remember.... A bag of sand is for life, not just for Cristmas!
