Is this ex soldier a terrorist?

this ex soldier went to fight for Kurdish rebels against Isis.

Upon his return from Syria he was arrested at Manchester airport on suspicion of committing terrorist acts.

Is he a terrorist or a brave guy trying to help others?

He's a mercenary. Apparently he beats civvies up as well. Much as I despise IS he could easily be classed as a terrorist in my book. Us "RWR" can't have it both ways.

Unless he accepted money or possessions for personal gain then he's not(technically)a mercenary, but I'm probably being a bit pedantic.

A mercenary, but not a terrorist. Who knows, possibly the person he beat up deserved it.

As much as I hate Izal, I am not brave/stupid enough to go to Syria.

If all the Kurdish rebels are doing is fighting Isis then I have no issues with him joining them. If innocent women and children are being killed then yes, he's a terrorist.
