and isnt it time planners learnt about basic building control methods?

the thing we had to call a meeting for this week was water harvesting planners wanted water buts on all the 35 cottages iam doing at the moment, but building control want the water taking well away from the house and foundations,

the amount the planners charge its time they went back to collage,

Yeh that's not uncommon.. Why cant you have water buts with the overflows going to soakaways?

...or back to school to learn how to spell?

But yes... there can normally be a conflict, but there is more than one way to skin a cat. Similarly to the issue on PD where side facing windows cannot have openings below 1.7m, etc... but when that window serves a bedroom, it needs to be suitable for means of escape. In that situation, the BCO can offer a compromise OR you go down the full planning application route.

Er, no - we don't want any communication between 'Planning' and 'Building Control' thankyou.

why s that,
they send building control around to old buildings like barns to look at the state of it and see if it can be brought back already

I am not aware of any BCO's who visit buildings to determine whether they're feasible to be brought back

I this the same markbrick1 that demands continuity amongs bureaucratic, council institutions but prefers to build via a building notice?

ive had a few barn conversions and old run down property looked at when applications are in as planners have asked b c if they think the building worthy of renovation
