The instructions for my mixer shower say that I should install "unrestricted isolating valves" for the hot and cold feeds.
This seems to suggest gate valves which do not narrow the bore of the pipe, as opposed to ball valves which significantly reduce the bore.
Is this overkill, and does the very short length of the valve mean that flow will not really be restricted by using a ball valve?
Cheers.
