The IDF claim that if the Palestinians managed to break through the security fence then the Israelis living on the other side would be in danger of massacre, they seem to forget that the lands these Israelis are living on were obtained by the massacre and ethnic cleansing of relatives of the Palestinians who are now demanding the right of return.
Under international law it is illegal to settle occupied territories with the occupiers own people, so you could argue that it is the Israelis who are ultimately at fault by refusing to allow the original inhabitants and their descendants to return to their homelands.
