I think that's an excellent idea.
Baggage weights, of course, are limited. That is because the all-up weight of the aeroplane determines the amount of fuel needed to travel a given distance.
Passenger weights, despite being far greater than the weight of baggage, seems not to have any influence on the matter. For example, I weigh about 11 stones, compared to my usual baggage allowance of 21kg (sorry, I can't get my head round these trendy new decimal units of measurement).
The weight of hand baggage is also ignored. Although size limits are in place, the weight need not relate to the size. For example, I could take on board a regulation-sized bag full of gold bars (except I couldn't afford to) and that would be quite acceptable.
And one parting shot: have you ever had to sit next to a baby hippopotamus? I have. (No, not my wife.)
