There is no doubt the pensions system as it stands will fall over before long. Millions of working people are paying high taxes to support a system from which they will almost certainly never benefit. The issue is about political will and voter support, and whether these radical proposals can happen now.

It all depends whether or not you'd trust 'reform' to get the job done with any degree of competence - while they line the pockets of their donors with tax breaks and use any useful idiot like splineless to promote their far right agenda with regard to the issue of illegal immigration...which Labour is already doing.

The answer is not to take it away from those who have funded it. Our state pension is among the lowest of our neighbours.
