Joining British Gas Homecare

System water test using turbidity tube.
Red, Amber, green for results.
Red=no homecare without flush or boiler and controls but no water parts.
Amber= signs of problems advise flush? Lower level of care?
Green= hop on baby.

Think that's about it

not on our patch
no sample requirement as they don't like us to fail first visits.
if it is mentioned on the 1st visit or a fault is found relating to sludge in the sys we would quote them for a flush and advise them it is not covered.

Makes ya wonder why the stuff in on the FT isnt it about FV's if they ignore it!

Thanks.

The Homecare contract seems a good deal and I personally would consider it but boiler is still under warranty.

Will make sure system water is as clean as filtered Evian if I ask for quote.

Nothing to do wth water quals but i didnt want to take on a warm air on contract. My TSM was desperate to find a way to pass it. No ventilation from hallway to outside, unsupported single wall asbestos flue in a duct, the thing must have been as old as me. I couldnt find anything physically wrong with the unit though. Failed it in the end as comp vents were less than 50% and the door was asbestos lined. That got my TSM running away lol

If the TSM argues just quote what it says on the FT
"an AR appliance MUST NOT be accepted on homecare"
or something along those lines.

exactly. if i dont want it on contract it isnt going on. not by my hand anyway.

problem is if its AR they want you to repair it so it isnt.

Nothing they can do.... how can they expect an AR appliance to 'Pass'???
Its in black and white....
By AR I dont mean a prv poking out the wall neither,

what i mean is fit parts or ventilation or flues or whatever for free.

He wanted it quoted for the vents, fluesupports, the lot. I question whether we want bags of **** like that anyway.

The way i judge it is, "would i want to work on it?"

I remember going to an old sadistic school teacher who wanted to go on contract. I was determined i was going to fail him even for a missing rad cap , but everything was perfect

not a lot would get on if i said that every FV.

Unfortunately at the moment most of the FVs i go to are on a new estate thats been built about 3years. All icos HEs and santon unvented cyl. Plastic pipe is barrier and they are all fitted correctly which is rare. should just fail them for having an icos
