Fitting instruction that came with a 30A junction box stated......."Screw base of box to a fixed non-flammable surface".
Is this part of the new regs?
I have always screwed such items straight on to a joist in the past.
What am I likely to have in my attic that complies.?

unless you have a steel loft, then not much

just stick it anywhere, providing its accessable and wires are cliped to something to stop them bein pulled out

So why is my electric meter mounted on a wooden board? And why do they put them in plastic boxes nowadays? And why do we use plastic trunking? And why is running cables in insulation allowed? The list goes on . . .
