just about to start building a conservatory . . .

any hints/tips/sites/suppliers/advice would be most welcome!

Previously had a conservatory built on my old house in Northampton - the price was c£14k and I ended up paying £500 and telling the co to **** off!!!

The job was a disaster from start to finish - so I am going to DIY this time - its not difficult . . .

Get someone in to do the base & dwarf wall (if we have one) then measure/fit the plastic myself!

What make
what roof system
what glass
what options would be best on a 3.5m x 4m victorian style building

I am thinking . . .

doors on the edge of the building NOT on the sides
glass tinted roof
600mm dwarf wall!

Get the conservatory scaled up first and the manufacturer will give you a base plan to work to.
Just done mine, I went for the modular base and dwarf wall system very easy to erect just had to dig out holes and pour piles for the base to sit on saves your back and skips.
