How convenient. Just try doing that with personal claims for income-tax deductions or VAT records and see if that puts an end to an investiagtion......

Six years for tax purposes but these aren't tax records these show where public money has gone. If theres no need for records then shut down the national archive at Kew, the one with no car parking, and have a big bonfire

we need to know what the law requires
if they comply with that and we are not happy with that then try to amend the law to perhaps 12 or25 years

I keep my paper records for 7 years. Is it 6 now?
