I need to repair a kitchen cabinet door.
In the past, I have use repair hinges specifically for the doors.
These have a small lip.

I was wondering... why can't I just use ANY old metal plate?

For example a plate like this:

I can just use 2 of them if needed?
And drill holes where needed?

Or are the cabinet repair plates with the lip extra special?
Does the lip have some sort of extra functionality that I have missed?

Thanks.

I thought you meant hinge repair plates?

Is it a corner you're reparing?

Not a corner :)
I just find these metal plates to be super cheap and useful for different things
Just a door hinge
I'll get the ones with the lip if they help alignment
Thanks

You'd need tonredrill them, and personally I don't think they look that good.
