Hello,

We are having a new kitchen fitted in our extension, the old kitchen and extension are about 10 years old. All the sockets are in good condition and look like a good job was done on them, I may get the face plates changed to silver ones .

The only problem is there is a socket which will be close to the sink when the sink is moved. What are the exact measurements please?

Can I change the socket fronts or is Part P going to come into affect because it is a kitchen?

Thanks.

There is no definative distance, but as a general rule 300mm is a minimum distance.

Changing the socket fronts is a non notifiable task

If you are using metal fitting you must be sure that the metalface plate is properly earthed. This happens on socket outlets but light switches etc need special attention.
