Thanks for the reply, I have stripped out the wet mdf, it was not doing anything and damaged.
Inspecting the area the the leak could be from either area in red, the tap base or between sink and worktop. There is no obvious gap between sink and work top.
The plan is to
1.Get some sanitary silicone and seal between the sink and countertop won't be able to get in-between but will press as much in and seal what I can see outside around the red area.
2. Epoxy some undermount sink clips to worktop and tighter on that exposed bit of sink without mdf.
3. Put the tap in and put a small slither of sanitary silicone where tap base meets the worktop. (Although I'm not convinced the leak was from here)
4. After tap installed put ply over the bits of mdf to support remaining mdf which is holding the rest of sink.
Would.be great to get your thoughts.
