Knife Crime

Worrying....

Yes, I know that terrorism per se is a tiny fraction of what's going on out there, but will there be a similar admission for violent criminals in the future, and to what extent?

The psychologist also admits that the programme was untested, and wasn't even trialled (unethical to exclude potential participants as controls). Were the victims then part of an experiment?

Why is it that the people who suggest solutions are constantly accused of not contributing anything here?

The solutions to these problems are well documented, tried and tested, and proven to work. Why do some people think otherwise?

The purpose of exclusion is to make life easier for the school and improve their record. Exclusions are unfortunately needed, but the problem is what happens to the kids after they are excluded. Currently, they have no hope, no help, and are exposed to ideas and opportunities that will only cause more harm. Many of these kids are from broken families and suffer abuse at home, some no point in saying "improve parenting".

Show me where JohnD has given a solution, or even contributed an original thought rather than cut and paste articles over and over again ? You answered the question I posed him, he, as far as I can recall, has never answered a question put to him, all he does is contradict and deride, you have just contributed, he hasn't. I have suggested things which he just sneers at, no thought put into any reply, which is why I say he contributes NOTHING.

They should bring back the cane... but only for consenting adults.

Knife crime does not affect those in power, and at the moment it helps fuel the arguments for less immigration, less benefits and harsher prison conditions and sentences, which is all very convenient.

Out of sight, out of mind...

And pass the problem on to another failing 'department' of UK life!
A lack of discipline and the ease with which kids can misbehave and not want an education is a part of the problem. Years ago they dished out corporal punishment, get the cane, most would toe the line, some would even get more of the same. some of the stories about caning in the years before I started school made you shudder, but discipline was instilled (on the whole), whereas it was almost a free for all at school when I was there, teachers were given no respect.

I guess you have some stat's showing us how the percentages of school kids gaining good qualifications and going on to further education, was much higher back in your day...?

Look forward to seeing some back-up, Hate.(y)
