Do the sell knock on girder clips at most electrical merchants?

I would imagine so - it's one of those staples that all most sparkies will need at one time or another.

Ask for caddy clips. Most have them, but only a few packs of each size. If you need to do a long run, order in advance!

At CEF they know them as Britclips - which I see are Walraven

BTW - make sure you get the right ones for the flange thickness. Large clips struggle to stay on a thin flange properly, and smaller clips are a right b***ard to get onto a thick flange (and struggle to stay put). Yes, sometimes you only need one or two for a job, you're miles from the nearest wholesaler, and the odd few you've got in your "bits and bobs" box are the wrong size
