New deputy PM announced. This is not really going to help the confidence of the victims in the enquiry.

From word of mouth, it appears what has happened in Caerphilly is there was a very strong and unexpectedly strong turnout from younger voters.
What do we know about younger voters in Wales? Well, they are the cohort that are most in favour of Welsh Independence, the cohort who are the most opposed to Brexit, and they are the cohort who are the least likely to vote for Reform.

Even though Caerphilly has the lowest rates of immigration among Wales’ 22 local authorities (over 97% of people there were born in the UK), Reform still put asylum and immigration at the heart of its campaign. It lamented the Welsh government’s “nation of sanctuary” policy, which is overwhelmingly targeted at helping Ukraine refugees and takes up just 0.038% of the Welsh government’s budget.
Like quite a few people here, they spend so much time in echo-chambers that they think their racist views are widely shared.

Don't know about poking fun, but certainly delivering a sharp and to the point reminder to him that what he is doing is no more popular with party members than it is the electorate.
Hopefully the party members will take note and ditch him before it's too late for them.
