My neighbours gardener asked me if I would look at the blower as she described it as no throttle.

The throttle has little movement when I operate it.
Handle removed & I can see that the plastic trigger part is right next to the plastic trim meaning as soon as I operate the trigger the plastic trim is acting like a wall and stopping the plastic trigger ever moving any further.
I’ve taken off the starter recoil part & the little lever on the carb I assume maybe inside is attached to a butterfly moves fine by hand & a nice distance.
The throttle trigger has a rod attached which feeds its way down past the carb & attaches itself to the opposite side of the carb lever mentioned. Moving the throttle trigger I see little movement on the carb lever but when I operate the carb lever by hand it moves at least twice as much.

Do these have a common issue with this fault or can you see something that I can’t.

To me, it looks like the throttle trigger needs to drop down a bit - it looks like it’s half pressed already!
The switch on the side to the left of the trigger.....is it just an on/off or can it be used to keep the blower at a set speed without touching the trigger?
John

when you say drop down you mean rotate more clockwise thus having more to squeeze ?
I say that as it’s on a spindle.

Not sure about the switch.

I don’t think it’s an on off for the user as it’s not seen when the handle is on.

The lock lever for the throttle has metal contacts along its path

Also not sure if this advises you of anything but I rotate the choke knob to say on or half but it doesn’t lock there & just returns straight back to off.

I’ve taken all the handle pieces apart & put back together.

Now done.

Thanks.

To set the choke, you press the trigger, turn the choke knob and then release the trigger. One more squeeze of the trigger and the choke releases.
Anyway, that's another machine under your belt - I hope you cleaned the carb up though, and checked the air filter!!
John :)
