It has been oiled 6 times over the past 2 weeks but I won't be able to ensure a tenant cars for it properly. It is just a small section that I fitted to cover where there was a gap.
It has hot rods on it to prevent burns and we want to discourage it being used as a chopping board.
It's just that despite the oil I know it won't stand up well to lack of care. So if I was staying there it would be wiped after use and oiled as needed but if I can provide a more durable seal I will do that rather than have it damaged.
I have read about lacquer being used/or some type of non gloss varnish but I don't know which type or if it can be used over oil.
